Brigadier-General Hossein Rahimi said that 24 of the arrested people have destroyed banks, 22 have attacked gas stations, and five of them have looted stores.
He said that a part of the stolen goods has been found.
Tehran and some other cities of Iran faced protests and riots after the government announced a sudden sharp rise in petrol prices.
